It’s that time of year again in Mason City, Iowa. School is back in session. The weather is starting to dip and signs of fall at East Park are there. It get’s you thinking about your next family photoshoot. Then it gets you thinking about all the things that go with that family photoshoot. First - decide WHERE these images are going to go in your home. Yes, think about this BEFORE you even start outfit planning. Now look around and see what your color palette is within that space. From there you can start picking out right outfits that fit right in with your home interior!

Second - once you know WHERE your images are going you can start outfit planning. When it comes to outfits it’s better to add more texture than more color. Keep the color palette within 3 shades but add interest with different sweaters, button downs, and pants. Mix it up with jeans and corduroy. Wear tights or knee high socks. Keep jewelery minimal by either wearing a statement earring or statement necklace (not both!) Go through your closet first and then add if you need too. Make sure everyone is comfortable in their outfits too!

Finally - choose a location that matches your vibe. Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you have to be at places likes Lime Creek of Georgia Handford Park. Downtown Mason City is also a great spot if you want more urban in your photos (especially in front of the Historic Park Inn!)
